Project Scenario Interview Questions test how you handle real admin work: requests, priorities, stakeholders, go-lives and the people side of Salesforce. This is Post 12, the last post of our scenario series.

Each scenario matches a topic from Business Analysis Interview Questions and Senior Salesforce Admin Interview Questions. Use stories from your own work wherever you can.

How to Use These Project Scenario Interview Questions

Answer every scenario in four short steps. First, repeat the problem in your own words. Next, say what you would check. Then name the exact feature or setting you would use, and say why. Finally, explain how you would test the fix with a real user.

Project Scenario Interview Questions on Requests and Requirements

  1. A manager sends a one-line email: “We need a new field.” What do you do next?
  2. Sales asks for a report that already exists under another name. How do you handle it?
  3. Two managers ask for opposite changes to the same page. What do you do?
  4. A VP asks for a feature that will slow down every user. How do you respond?
  5. A request is clear, but the business reason is not. What questions do you ask?
  6. A team asks for a custom object that duplicates a standard one. What do you suggest?
  7. You receive 30 requests in your first week. How do you organise them?
  8. A requirement keeps changing after you start building. What do you do?

A good answer finds the real problem behind the request and writes it down as a user story. Then confirm it with the requester before you build.

Planning and Priorities Scenarios

  1. You have three urgent requests from three directors. How do you choose?
  2. A big project and daily support both need your time. How do you balance them?
  3. A deadline is not possible with the current scope. What do you tell the business?
  4. Leaders want a new process live in two weeks. How do you plan it?
  5. A small change turns into a large project. What do you do?
  6. Your manager asks for a plan for the next quarter. What goes into it?
  7. Technical clean-up keeps getting pushed back. How do you get time for it?

Interviewers want to see a clear method, such as business value against effort. Also show that you talk openly with stakeholders about trade-offs.

Project Scenario Interview Questions on Building and Testing

Study with Sandboxes and Change Sets.

  1. You must build a new approval process for discounts. Walk through your steps from sandbox to production.
  2. Users find bugs during testing two days before go-live. How do you decide what to fix?
  3. A tester says the build does not match the requirement. What do you do?
  4. No one from the business has time to test. How do you handle it?
  5. You must change a flow that many teams depend on. How do you reduce the risk?
  6. A developer and you work on the same object. How do you avoid conflicts?
  7. How do you write a test plan for a new page layout and flow?

A strong answer names the sandbox, the test cases, who signs off and how you deploy. Then say how you would check production right after go-live.

Go-Live and Support Scenarios

Study with In-App Guidance.

  1. Go-live is tomorrow. What is on your checklist?
  2. The first day after go-live brings 50 support tickets. How do you handle them?
  3. A key user is unhappy with the new process. What do you do?
  4. You must roll back a change after go-live. How do you plan it?
  5. How do you tell users about a change before it goes live?
  6. Leaders ask if the project worked. How do you measure it?
  7. Users keep using old spreadsheets after go-live. How do you change that?

A good answer covers communication, training, quick support and measurement. Interviewers like admins who plan for the days after go-live, not just the launch.

  1. A stakeholder skips every meeting, then complains about the result. What do you do?

Your Own Projects Scenarios

  1. Tell me about the biggest Salesforce project you have worked on.
  2. Describe a time you said no to a request. What happened?
  3. Tell me about a mistake you made in Salesforce and how you fixed it.
  4. Describe a process you improved. How did you measure the result?

Prepare three or four real stories before the interview. Each one should have a clear problem, your actions, the tools you used and a result with a number if you can.
